news bits: H2O, Joe Coffee, SSD, Lind, MP, Merauder,...

The release of H2O's live at CBGBs album as part of The Bowery Collection has been delayed by a few weeks.

Paul Rev and his crew, aka Joe Coffee, are back writing some new tracks. And that's just one of those things to look forward to.

SSD's Euro tour is overshadowed by usual reunion mess in the sense that it is not all original memebsr and thus the question if it can really be caleld a SSD reunion tour. Oh sometimes these reunions are very troubled waters.

Mark Lind and The Unloved are on track to release "The truth can be brutal" on June 24. And a few weeks later - July 8 - Boston's Street Dogs will have a new album out.

NY's Merauder is in the studio finalising their "Gangsta" album.

In theory - famous last words - we should also see new releases in the coming months from Maximum Penalty and Ironbound. And when Vinnie Stigma's solo album will be released is just anybody's guess - as it has been for the last 3 years.

Belgium's singer-songwriter Sarah Bettens is hitting NYC soon. For fans of Mark Lind, Springsteen,... She was previously leading lady of K's Choice.

SSD, Verse, Have Heart, Bloodline Ltd, Alligators,...

So Boston's glory SSD are joining the reunion-frenzy with gigs in the US and Europe.

Just listened to the new stuff from Verse and Have Heart. Verse's Aggression album is really a step forward from their sophomore. This band keeps growing. Have Heart's ep "You can't go home" is refreshingly slower than their previous work. It feels stronger.

South Africa's tattoo-artists-turned-HC-beats Bloodline Ltd have just released their debut album. For fans of Terror inspired tunes.

Dropkick Murphys are doing some gigs with Mighty Mighty Bosstones. All I can say is "WOW".

Roger Miret's efforts with the Insted crowd has now lead to a full Alligators album combining 2 previously released eps and some extra tracks. Old school.

spotted: Absolution 1988 demo

An absolute beauty. NY's Absolution is a historic HC band. The complexity and originality of their songs were ahead of most of the other bands at the end of the 80s - at the height of NYHC.

So here is their 1988 Demo, spotted on this blog:

Dropkick Murphy's bar in Boston

Dropkick Murphy’s’ member re-opens historic Boston bar.

Considered by many as the "Birthplace of Red Sox Nation" and "America's 1st Sports-Bar and Baseball Museum", McGreevy's 3rd Base Saloon is back after its disappearance from the Boston scene in 1920.

A die-hard Sox fan, Casey and the Dropkick Murphys have resurrected "McGreevy's 3rd Base Saloon" in the heart of the city of Boston. Featuring an exact replica of McGreevy's original barroom it features actual photographs and baseball treasures that hung on the walls of the original watering hole.

It’s all at: 911 Boylston St in Boston

Occupied Territory demo

Here's Occupied Territory's demo from 1987. I think it was called "A start".

Does anybody know what happened to the OC members? Did they go into other NYHC bands?
